Ringing Plain Bob Minor in a Touch

Basics

Pass the treble
(going up) in:
Then do: Then pass the treble
(going down) in:
At the back = 5-6 Dodge 3‑4 Down 3-2
4-5 Dodge 5‑6 Down 4-3
3-2 Dodge 5‑6 Up 5-4
2-3 Dodge 3‑4 Up 6-5 = At the back
1-2 Make 2nds 2-1
Underscored places are those in which you ring over the treble.
No call

Figure 1. No call

Bob

Calls are made coming up to a lead end, the pull at which the treble strikes its second blow in leads and thus ends its lead. The call is made (ideally) at the preceding backstroke, a full pull before the lead end.

The result is analogous to a bob for Plain Bob Doubles:

Bob called

Figure 2. Bob called

  1. Green was about to Make 2nds. Instead, it runs out. At the lead end it will be in 3rds so it takes over the 3rds work, hunting out and in and then doing Make 2nds as it would have done at the call.
  2. Blue was about to Dodge 3‑4 Down. Instead, it runs in. At the lead end it will be in 2nds so it takes over the 2nds work, hunting in and out and then doing Dodge 3‑4 Down as it would have done at the call.
  3. Fuchsia was about to Dodge 3‑4 Up Instead, it makes the bob by striking a second blow in 4ths. At the lead end it will be in 4ths so it takes over the 4ths work, hunting in and out and then doing Dodge 5‑6 Down

The other bells are unaffected.

Would have done At Bob Then
2nd's work Make 2nds Run Out 3rd's Hunt in, Make 2nds
4th's work Dodge 3‑4 Down. Run In 2nd's Hunt out, Dodge 3‑4 Down
3rd's work Dodge 3‑4 Up Make the Bob:
two blows in 4ths
then hunt in
4th's Hunt out, Dodge 5‑6 Down
5th's work Dodge 5‑6 Up Unaffected
6th's work Dodge 5‑6 Down

As while ringing the rest of Plain Bob Minor, where you pass the treble is always the same at a bob, no matter which other bells are doing what work:

What you did Where you pass the treble
Run Out Does not pass the treble
Run In 2-1 down
Make the Bob 3-2 down

Single

Plain Bob Minor has singles as well as bobs. Singles can be called in the same places as bobs, namely at the backstroke a full pull before a lead end.

Single called

Figure 3. Single called

  1. Blue was about to Dodge 3‑4 Down. Instead, it strikes a second blow in 3rds. At the lead end it will be in 3rds so it takes over the 3rds work, hunting out and in and then doing Make 2nds as it would have done at the call.

Would have done At Bob Then
3rd's work Dodge 3‑4 Up Make the Bob:
two blows in 4ths
then run in
4th's Hunt out, Dodge 5‑6 Down
4th's work Dodge 3‑4 Down. Make 3rds,
then run out
3rd's Hunt in, Make 2nds
2nd's work Make 2nds Unaffected
5th's work Dodge 5‑6 Up
6th's work Dodge 5‑6 Down

Where you pass the treble is always the same at a single:

What you did Where you pass the treble
Make 3rds Does not pass the treble while running out
Make the Bob 3-2 down
